Overview

A single-storey dormer house under construction in Kiltale, near Trim, needed a full scaffold wrap so blockwork, exterior works, and later dormer details could proceed safely. The rural site sits open to fields and trees, with gravel working ground around the rising walls.

Platforms had to stay tight to the concrete-block elevations while still giving enough room for tools and materials as openings were formed and the build moved toward the roof stage.

The Brief

Wrap the house with multi-level boarded access, keep ladder routes clear between lifts, and leave a layout that could remain in place as masonry finished and dormer / roofline trades followed on. Soft edges of the excavation and material storage on site meant base positions and platform widths had to be planned carefully from the start.

What We Did

We erected a continuous house wrap around the blockwork shell, with boarded working lifts, handrails, and ladder access on the main elevations. Platforms were set to the wall line so blocklayers and exterior trades could work openings and corners safely as the walls rose.

As the structure advanced, we kept the wrap checked and adjusted so access stayed useful for the next stage — including the run-up to dormer and roof works — rather than forcing a full re-erect later in the programme.
